AR Goal:AR is a combined at home and school reading incentive program. It is a way to hold students accountable for the reading they do at school and at home through comprehension quizzes. What is AR?Every AR quiz your child takes will earn them points based on the level of book they are reading. The points add up to help your child reach their AR point goal.

Flag Salute At the second Flag Salute of each month, students will be recognized for each new level they achieve. Level Prizes will be awarded during scheduled library time. We will also be recognizing three Classrooms of the Month (1st, 2/3rd and 4/5th). The Classroom of the Month will be awarded a trophy to keep in their class all month long. Classrooms of the Month will be chosen using a combination of the following data: total classroom AR points, number of quizzes taken, and percentage of quizzes with scores that are over 80% correct.
NEW! At Flag Salute this year will be Challenges. Teachers from the Classrooms of the Month will compete in challenges at the flag salute.
End of the Year The two students with the most points from each grade level will go to frozen yogurt with Adam and Stephanie at the end of the year.
When Can My Student Take AR Tests? The Library is open everyday for AR tests from 8:15-8:45am and 3:10-3:45pm. The Library is also open every Wednesday at lunch for AR tests. We are also hoping to open the TLC one morning a week for AR tests. This is pending parent volunteers, if you are interested please see your student's teacher. Helpful Hints~Your student will be more successful when he/she reads books in their level. AR quizzes are designed to test reading comprehension, if your student doesn't understand what they read they will have a hard time with the AR quiz. ~Encourage your student to take a quiz soon after they finish the book. The longer they wait, the less they will remember from the book. ~Beginning readers may have to read a book more than once to help them be successful on the AR quiz. ~Use the following link to check to see if a book is an AR book, and the level and quiz number.http://www.arbookfind.com/
